It is a systemic fungicide with protective and curative properties from the thiophanate family. Although it has low toxicity to mammals, it is mutagenic and irritating. The mode of action of this fungicide is to prevent the biosynthesis of beta-tubulin and, as a result, disrupt the cell division of mitosis in fungi.
In other countries, it is used to control eye spot, powdery mildew, gray mold, leaf spot, rusts, brown spot, root rots and on a variety of plants such as fruit trees, cereals, cucurbits, soybeans, peanuts, walnuts, garlic and onions, almonds, strawberries, grapes, tomatoes and eggplants.
