Systemic insecticide with contact and digestive effects against important plant pests, especially sucking insects against pistachio psyllid, tobacco aphid, nettle aphid in cotton fields, citrus leaf miner in seedlings less than 3 to 5 years old and grape weevil
How it works
A systemic insecticide with contact and digestive effects from the nicotinoid group, which has two isomers and acts as a neurotoxin insecticide by disrupting the action of nicotinic acetylcholine nerve receptors in the synapses of the insect’s central nervous system, causing insect death.
Uses
In other countries, it is used to control aphids on ornamental plants, greenhouses, and potted plants by seed disinfection and with different formulations. It is used for aphids on crops such as corn, tobacco, rapeseed, citrus leafminers, and thrips and grasshoppers. Because it is systemic, it can also be used in irrigation.
If seeds are treated with this insecticide, it can be used as a spray only once. The interval between the last spray and harvest is 14 days for cotton, tobacco and pistachios, and 21 days for citrus.
The 70% (WS) formulation is used for treating seeds and tubers before planting and for pests such as aphids, leafhoppers, rapeseed flea beetles and thrips, and is known by the trade name Gaucho. This insecticide is used in ornamental plants to control whitefly and to disinfect soil, growing beds, and plant nurseries.
