Selective systemic insecticide effective against aphids in tobacco, sesame, fruit trees, cotton, potatoes and jaleez fields
How it works
A selective and systemic aphidicidal insecticide from the pyridine group with an acute oral toxicity rating of 5820 that paralyzes the aphid’s proboscis and prevents it from feeding. Ultimately, the aphids are killed 1 to 4 days after spraying.
Uses
The insecticide P-Metrozin is used in Iran to control aphids in tobacco, sesame, fruit trees, cotton, potatoes, and yam fields, and in other countries to control sucking pests such as aphids, whiteflies in vegetables and ornamental plants, tobacco, and pollen-eating beetles.
It is used to control aphids resistant to organophosphate and carbamate pesticides. Continuous use of this insecticide is not recommended to prevent the development of resistance. Best results are obtained when spraying begins when the first aphids are seen and repeated as needed. To limit the spread of viruses such as potato leaf curl virus, it should be done when 90% of the field is green.
The Karnes period for peppers and cucumbers is three days and for potatoes and leafy vegetables is seven days.
This aphidicide is very dangerous for bees. To avoid its adverse effects on beneficial insects and bees, it should not be sprayed within 6 meters of the field.
