Uses
In other countries, it is used to control sucking pests such as whiteflies, aphids, mealybugs and scale insects on vegetables, soybeans, pome and stone fruit trees and citrus. It is safe for ladybugs and harmful to beneficial mites. The interval between the last spray and harvest is 14 days.
Spirodiclofen is only effective on active eggs and has no effect on overwintering eggs. The best time to use this poison is in the spring and it is resistant to washing by rain. It is used for all types of European red mites, two-spotted spider mites, citrus rust mites, citrus red mites, bean and vegetable spider mites, and horticultural and agricultural crops, as well as pistachio psyllids. It is also best to combine the poison with foliar soap for greater effectiveness. Environmentally, this acaricide is highly toxic to aquatic life, but is ineffective on beneficial insects such as ladybugs and has a negative effect on predatory mites.
